Great Horned Owl

Over the weekend made a trip to suisun city in California to see animals rescued by wildlife rescue center. A very humble experience at the place which runs totally on donations and volunteer work. It was good to see lot of young kids working with some elders helping run this place. You can learn more about them here

Humming Bird

This weekend went to Santa Cruz as part of a meetup to shoot some humming birds. I was amazed by how small this bird is, they can definitely fly fast like a bullet. We photographed hummingbirds at the UCSC Arboretum. This time of the year, the Allen’s Hummingbirds (orange ones) are migrating to santa cruz area for mating and nesting. It’s one of the difficult shoots i have ever done, the birds are moving at such rapid speed, it was very hard to focus the camera and shoot. I missed having a fast zoom lens for this one. Hopefully in future i will be able to own atleast a 400mm 2.8 lens to capture fast moving objects.

HorseTail Fall – Yosemite

This is a picture of Horsetail Fall from Yosemite national park. This is a unique event every year in the month of February, when the weather conditions are just right, the setting sun illuminates the waterfall, making it glow orange and red like ‘Lava’. This amazing phenomenon is also known as the “Firefall”.
